Class B-to-Class A Upgrade — Manual

West Virginia manual-transmission notice: West Virginia does not require the official CDL skills test to be taken in a manual-transmission CMV. However, if you take the official CDL skills test in an automatic-transmission CMV, your CDL will receive the E restriction — No Manual Transmission CMV. While that E restriction remains on your CDL, you may not legally operate a manual-transmission commercial motor vehicle for yourself or for any company. The restriction can later be removed by completing the applicable state testing in a manual-transmission CMV.
FREE THEORY CLASSES INCLUDED: The applicable HazardCue ELDT online theory class or classes are included with this BTW package at no additional cost.

  • Class B-to-Class A Upgrade ELDT Online Theory + final theory assessment (80% minimum passing score)
  • Hazmat (H) ELDT Online Theory + final theory assessment for drivers seeking a first-time H endorsement
  • Tanker (N) Endorsement DMV Knowledge-Test Preparation + practice questions
  • Class A combination-vehicle range and public-road instruction
  • Complete pre-trip and tractor-trailer component identification, air-brake system checks, coupling/uncoupling, tandem sliding/positioning, straight-line and offset backing, alley dock, sight-side and blind-side parallel parking, turns, shifting, highway operation, railroad crossings, speed/space management and final proficiency evaluation
  • All HazardCue curriculum books, training guides, checklists, evaluation sheets, progress logs, and training supplies
  • Applicable FMCSA training completion record/reporting

Additional BTW instruction after the included 60 hours, when needed to reach proficiency: $125/hour.
