DOT HazMat Employee

The federal training rule for everyone whose work touches hazardous materials in transportation. Eight modules of narrated video teach 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H — who counts as a hazmat employee, the Hazardous Materials Table, shipping papers, marking, labeling, placarding, safe handling, and security awareness.

Who it is for

Loaders, warehouse crews, packers, office staff who prepare shipping papers, and anyone else whose duties affect hazmat transportation safety.

Under the federal rule, a hazmat employee is anyone whose work directly affects hazardous materials transportation safety — loading, packing, marking, labeling, preparing or signing papers, accepting freight, or driving the vehicle. This course teaches the knowledge elements of that training rule: general awareness, safety training, and security awareness. Take it online, at your own pace, on a phone, tablet, or computer — your progress saves as you go.
